Our Students are Blessed

Girls with hands crossed waiting for the first communion

Lent and Easter were very busy seasons for the Visitation BVM community. As we prepared for Easter, two groups of Visitation students also prepared for the Sacraments of Confirmation and First Holy Communion. On April 9th, blessed with the presence of Bishop Fitzgerald, fifteen of our seventh and eighth grade students were filled with the power of the Holy Spirit through the Sacrament of Confirmation. These students worked hard completing service hours, researching saints, selecting saint names, and discussing the true meaning of the Sacrament with their loved ones. On April 30th, twenty six of our students, grades 3rd- 6th, received First Holy Communion! Dressed in all white, these students took to the altar to perform a very special song that they practiced for weeks! Under the guidance of Mr. Rapone, Mrs. Ruiz, Ms. Murphy, Ms. Muzychka, Mrs. Corcoran, and Ms. Lydia Rodriguez, both of these Sacraments were made even more special! We are beyond proud of these students and as with all Visitation students, we will keep them in our prayers as they continue on their faith journeys.
